ABOUT STEVEN RUBIN
Steven E. Rubin, M.D., is a board certified Psychiatrist practicing clinical psychiatry in Reno, Nevada. As a licensed physician, Dr. Rubin has experience and expertise in acute and long-term medical and psychotherapeutic psychiatric care delivery in private and public sectors, and continues to provide psychiatric consultation in rehabilitation and extended care settings. His clinical scope of practice include managing developmentally disabled young adults, assessing and treating cognitive, mood and behavioral geriatric declines, to stabilizing acute and chronically unstable psychiatric illnesses.
He began his medical career thirty years ago as a hospital orderly before becoming a Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician, working in emergency room, cardiac, neonatal and adult intensive care units in Evanston, Illinois. After graduating from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine over 20 years ago, he completed his internship at Duke University and Psychiatry Residency from the University of Virginia.
Dr. Rubin also serves on the Nevada State Medicaid Drug Review Board and various ethics committees for state and local medical associations. He is the author of Autumn Leaves, Aging With and Without Dementia, and speaks nationwide to clinicians on adult and geriatric psychiatric issues.
